Falcon Table Lamp, finish: copper bronze, linen lampshade

The table lamp is made on a frame made of bronze and copper and complemented with a linen shade. The design of the Falcon table lamp with a bronze falcon (c. 1200-1220), forged in southern Italy and now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Architecture of the Middle Ages. This elaborately cast figure is associated with the Hohenstaufen emperors, the German dynasty that ruled territories belonging to modern Germany and Italy. This proud bird likeness, which may have decorated a throne or the top of a tent pole, is embodied in the base of a table lamp.
